When the marketing manager retired Aarti applied for the position. When the search was done the decision was taken to fill the job from outside the company. They felt that she might displease the other managers if she tried to take credit for their work and as a result their performance would suffer. Due to this Aarti became despondent and her work deteriorated. She became to be late with her sales reports. Although her sales staff continued to be productive. When the new marketing manager took over , one of the first major problems she confronted was how to get Aarti back on her former performance level.

Q6; Mr.Varun joined arya Ltd as Personnel officer . After joining he came to know that maximum workers working under him are well versed with tamil but not with any other language and he himself has no knowledge of tamil at all. So he tried to take the help of Amit his P.a. to communicate with his workers and Amit has no complete knowledge of tamil as well as English so mistakes creeped in causing different meanings and misunderstandings. One day Varun told Amit that Some of his guests are coming so he has to take care of them now here he meant to take care of their transport, food , accommodation of the guest until he leaves the place. But the subordinate interpreted the guest should be taken to hotel with care only . So ultimately guest suffered .
In the above case Varun is facing two barrier of communication . Identify them with reason.

Q7;Aruna joined in Afsa Ltd as Personnel manager, she observed lots of chaos and misunderstandings in the organization she found that there is highly centralized pattern , people are not be encouraged to have free communication . If they want to communicate then they have to follow prescribed channel which results in delays. Other than this there are number of managerial levels , communication gets delayed and distorted as number of filtering points are more. So she found that something is wrong with one of the element of one of the function of management .
